Wax melts slowly and releases its fragrance as it warms. That is why a candle is judged by its first lighting: if the wax does not melt all the way to the edges, it will tunnel and never release its full fragrance.
260 g for 45 to 50 hours of burning. The fragrance comes with a certificate of conformity with IFRA standards issued by the supplier, for use in candles.
On the first lighting, let it burn until the wax has melted evenly to the edges. Allow two to three hours. This is the only step that really matters.
Trim the wick to 5 mm before each use: a wick that is too long will smoke and blacken the glass.
Do not let it burn for more than three hours at a time. Place the candle on a stable, heat-resistant surface, away from drafts and anything that could catch fire.

Never leave a burning candle unattended. Keep it out of reach of children and pets, away from curtains, books, and anything that can catch fire.
Place it on a stable, heat-resistant surface: the glass heats up during combustion and remains hot after being extinguished.
Avoid drafts, which cause the flame to flicker, blacken the glass, and burn the wax unevenly.
Stop using the candle when there is one centimeter of wax left at the bottom.

What does our sillage contain?
JASMINE
Heart notes: an airy, luminous jasmine. This is the material that makes up the largest part of the formula.
BERGAMOT
Top notes: the bright citrus that opens the composition.
TANGERINE
Top notes: rounder and sweeter than bergamot, it softens it
VIOLET
Heart notes: powdery and subtle, they set the floral notes without weighing them down.
WHAT WE CAN PROVE
Each fragrance is accompanied by a certificate of conformity with IFRA standards, issued by the supplier and updated with each amendment.
The certificate specifies the usage limit for each product category. What is permitted in a candle is not necessarily permitted in a diffuser. We comply with the limit for each use, not an average.
Our wax is a blend of 90% soy wax and 2% beeswax. No paraffin, no added coloring.

Most homes sell a candle, or a diffuser. At ESSENCE 1989, each fragrance is available in both, made from the same formula same ingredients, same proportions.

LIGHT IT, BREATHE IT
Let the wax melt to the edges of the glass for two to three hours. That’s the only step that really matters.
At 5 mm before each use. A drill bit that is too long smokes and blackens the glass.
Beyond this, the wax overheats and the fragrance deteriorates. Let it cool before relighting.
When there is one centimeter of wax left at the bottom, the candle has done its job.
